Choosing caregiver support

Online caregiver support groups: moderated vs free options

You may need someone who understands, help getting the family organized, or a plan for the next hard conversation. Those are different needs. Not every group covers all three.

Free peer groups

Free groups can offer company, shared experience, and a place to ask questions. Check who moderates the group, whether posts are visible outside it, and whether advice comes from peers or qualified professionals.

Care coordination tools

When appointments and updates keep coming back to you, a shared calendar or task list can help distribute the work. That is different from a facilitated conversation about guilt, boundaries, or changing family roles.

Moderated, stage-based support

Time to Care combines facilitated Care Talks, a stage-based guidance library, and guided programs in one paid membership. It is designed for family caregivers who want a structure alongside peer support, not medical or therapeutic care.

Before you join

Ask about the current session schedule, language availability, what is included, and cancellation terms. Read the privacy rules. Choose the kind of support you can actually use this month, not the one that asks you to take on more.
